Doctrine in fifteen Callings

A doctrinal manifesto of the Seventh Day Adventist Reform Movement — in brief, each point as we confess it, with Scripture as the foundation.

We believe that the Holy Scriptures are the Word of God — living, active, and sufficient. The fifteen points that follow are not a code, but a confession: the landscape of our faith, as we have received it, and as we pass it on.

Doctrine of Music

The Holy Scriptures

(2 Tim. 3:16–17 · Isa. 8:20)

The Trinity

(Mat. 28:19 · 2 Cor. 13:14)

Salvation by Grace

(Efes. 2:8–10 · Rom. 3:24)

The Seventh-day Sabbath

(Gen. 2:1–3 · Exod 20:8–11 · Evr. 4:9)

The Second Coming of Christ

(Ioan 14:1–3 · 1 Tes. 4:16–17)

The Spirit of Prophecy

(Apoc. 12:17 · Apoc. 19:10)

The Church

(Mat. 28:19 · Rom. 6:3–5)

The Lord's Supper

(1 Cor. 11:23–26 · Ioan 13:14–17)

The Christian Life

Trupul este templul Duhului Sfânt. Cumpătarea, simplitatea și sfințirea cuprind întreaga ființă — gând, vorbă, faptă, îmbrăcăminte și relații. (1 Cor. 6:19–20 · Tit 2:11–12)

The Health Message

(Mal. 3:8–10 · 1 Cor. 9:14)

Marriage and the Family

(Gen. 2:24 · Efes. 5:22–33)

The Resurrection and the Judgment

(1 Tes. 4:13–18 · Apoc. 20:5–6)

The New Earth

(Isa. 65:17 · 2 Petru 3:13 · Apoc. 21:1–4)

The Fifteen Points
2 Tim. 3:16–17 · Isa. 8:20

Holy Scripture

The Bible is the Word of God — inspired, infallible, sufficient. The only rule of faith and life, by which every doctrine, tradition and experience must be weighed.

Matt. 28:19 · 2 Cor. 13:14

The Trinity

There is one God, revealed in three eternal Persons — Father, Son and Holy Spirit — united in one divine nature.

Eph. 2:8–10 · Rom. 3:24

Salvation by grace

We are saved by grace, through faith, as the gift of God — not by works of the Law. Good works are the fruit, never the root, of salvation.

Gen. 2:1–3 · Ex. 20:8–11 · Heb. 4:9

The seventh-day Sabbath

The Sabbath, the seventh day, is the eternal sign of the covenant between God and His people — a day of rest, worship and fellowship, instituted at creation.

John 14:1–3 · 1 Thess. 4:16–17

The second coming of Christ

The Lord Jesus will return visibly, personally and gloriously, to gather to Himself the redeemed. This hope is the foundation of our walk.

Rev. 12:17 · Rev. 19:10

The Spirit of Prophecy

The gift of prophecy was manifested in the work of Ellen G. White as a lesser light pointing to the greater Light — the Bible.

Eph. 4:11–13 · 1 Cor. 12:27

The Church

The Church is the body of Christ on earth — a community of baptized believers, organized for worship, instruction, service and the proclamation of the Gospel.

Matt. 28:19 · Rom. 6:3–5

Baptism

Baptism by immersion, following genuine repentance and based on personal faith, marks union with Christ and entry into the community of believers.

1 Cor. 11:23–26 · John 13:14–17

The Lord's Supper

The Lord's Supper is the symbol of Christ's sacrifice. Preceded by the ordinance of foot-washing, it reminds us of humility, forgiveness and the second coming.

1 Cor. 6:19–20 · Titus 2:11–12

The Christian life

The body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Temperance, simplicity and sanctification embrace the whole being — thought, word, deed, dress and relationships.

1 Cor. 10:31 · Gen. 1:29

The health message

God calls for a healthy life: a vegetarian diet, abstinence from alcohol, tobacco and narcotics — preparation for His work and for meeting Him.

Mal. 3:8–10 · 1 Cor. 9:14

Christian stewardship

We are stewards of time, talents, means and the earth. Tithes and offerings are a recognition that all belongs to the Lord.

Gen. 2:24 · Eph. 5:22–33

Marriage and family

Marriage is the covenant between a man and a woman, instituted by God at creation. The family is the first school of faith and service.

1 Thess. 4:13–18 · Rev. 20:5–6

Resurrection and judgment

Death is a sleep until the Lord's return. The resurrection of the righteous precedes the millennium; the resurrection of the wicked follows at the end, unto judgment.

Isa. 65:17 · 2 Pet. 3:13 · Rev. 21:1–4

The new earth

After the destruction of evil, God will make a new earth where righteousness will dwell forever. This is the hope of the redeemed.

Music forms a part of God's worship in the courts above, and we should endeavor, in our songs of praise, to approach as nearly as possible to the harmony of the heavenly choirs.
